Takei touches on that throughout this graphic memoir. ![]() Our history books are notoriously white-washed, never delving into the parts of our past that makes white Americans look like the "bad guys." For example, I was never taught about these American concentration camps in my public school history class, though we spent every year of middle and high school learning about those in Europe. We are also shown the repercussions this period has on American politics. Through flash forwards from the '40s to present day, we see the repercussions this terrible experience has on George as he finds his voice while processing what his country put him through. While his parents are just trying to get through the day and keep their family safe, young George and his brother Henry think they are going on a vacation or an adventure. ![]() Seeing this all through a young child's eyes was even more heart-wrenching. They are so sweet and so hot as a married couple! They cannot get enough of each other and they are so happy after some very big, very good news!! I loved knowing more about this couple! I loved that Colton and Ry continue having this amazing overwhelming connection that needs no words expressed. The novel starts almost six years after Colton and Ry’s wedding and Bromberg with this book gives us what happened between the ending of Crashed and its second epilogue. You’ve been warned! So, Aced continues with the story of Colton Donavan (the sexy racer with a fucked-up past who finally finds his salvation in the woman that fell from that closet) and Rylee Thomas -now Donavan- (a woman who has been through a difficult accident, who has so much love for the lost boys in The House and who is afraid to fall in love again but she cannot stop herself when she meets Colton). PLEASE, do not read this review if you haven’t read the other books, it will contain some SPOILERS. Bromberg did not disappoint!Īced is the fourth novel in this series and it is obviously related to the previous ones ( Driven, Fueled, Crashed and Raced) so I recommend you to read the whole thing before this novel. ![]() I fell in love with Colton and Rylee’s love story and how these two grow so much and stay strong throughout all the situations in their path. Some of the main questions that Kant’s ethics focuses on are questions of right and wrong: What makes an action right or wrong? Which actions are we required by morality to perform? Do consequences matter? Is it ever permissible to do something morally wrong in order to achieve good consequences? Is it important to do actions with good intentions? And what are good intentions? Some of Kant’s answers to some of these questions are complex, but as we will see, he doesn’t think that consequences matter and thus good consequences cannot justify wrong actions. He published two large works on ethics, The Critique of Practical Reason and The Metaphysics of Morals, but it’s his first short work of ethics, Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals that is his most important because it provides a succinct and relatively readable account of his ethics.
